1. Solid bending
Solid bending, in other words, is tamped bending, and the inner and outer rollers and the inner and outer walls of the pipe material are double tamped during real bending.
1) The real bending is characterized by small rebound and accurate forming, so as long as the roll shape is accurate, the inner Angle forming R is more accurate.
2) The defects of solid bending also have the effect of Lashen/thinning. First, the real bending will cause the bending place to produce lachen, Lachen effect reduces the vertical length of the bending line; Second, the metal material at the real bend will become soft because of Rashen.
2. Empty bend
Empty bending is caused by the bending distance generated by the unilateral contact between the outer roll and the surface of the pipe material, which causes the cutting material to bend. Empty bending will cause the bending line to shrink, and the shrinking effect will cause the bending line to extend vertically and the metal material at the bending place to deposit and thicken, which is the shrinking/thickening effect of empty bending.
1) The advantage of empty bending can be bent around the circumference before it is not possible to perform solid bending, such as the upper/side of the square tube at the same stage and cast rolling. Air bending can also bend the inner Angle of R<0.2t without breaking the wall thickness.
2) The main shortcomings of empty bending When the square rectangular tube is at the same empty bending on the above/side, because the upper roll and the lower roll together cause the working pressure, the forming force is easy to exceed the zero boundary point, resulting in edge imbalance concave, but also affect the smooth operation of the generator set and forming quality. That is also the characteristics of different types of square and round tube hollow bending.
In practical application, these basic methods should be equipped with effective process parts in square tube forming according to the commodity. It is necessary to pay attention to the impact of the Lashen/thinning effect of real bending and the reduction/thickening effect of air bending on the quality of the product, otherwise it will cause the side of the square tube to be concave when forming, and the finished tube to shrink vertically and cannot be straightened.
