Highway guardrail according to the highway lateral division can be divided into road side guardrail and central partition guardrail, of which the central partition guardrail commonly used forms are corrugated beam steel guardrail and concrete guardrail. For highways in high-cold areas, the width of the central divider guardrail should not be set too large, otherwise it will lead to high highway construction costs. Aiming at the characteristics of scarce land resources, high road construction cost and difficult snow removal in high altitude and snow-prone areas, combined with regional climatic conditions, terrain and landform, a central divider guardrail with small area, small maximum lateral deformation of guardrail and protection capacity up to SBm level (i.e. 280kJ collision energy) was developed.
The snow period in high altitude areas is long, and considering the snow removal performance and landscape effect of concrete guardrail, it is decided to use corrugated beam steel guardrail. In order to make the guardrail occupy a small space, a single-column three-beam structure is adopted, the upper beam is 100×80×4mm rectangular tube, and the middle beam is 80×80×4mm rectangular tube. The lower beam is 80×80×3mm rectangular tube, the column 130×130×4.5mm, the column spacing 2m, and the concrete foundation 600×600×600mm.
