The steel structure of tower crane is mainly composed of lifting arm, balance arm, tower cap, sleeve, standard section and foundation section, rotary seat, attachment device and corresponding connecting parts. Most of the boom of the tower crane adopts triangular truss structure, the upper chord is usually a single round steel, the lower chord is mostly two parallel rectangular tubes, and the inclined and horizontal belly rods are mostly seamless steel pipes or other sections of slightly smaller specifications, as shown in the figure above. The boom is one of the main load-bearing components of the tower crane, and its bearing safety is very important to the safety of the tower crane. The balance arm of the tower crane is designed to arrange the counterweight (counterweight) at its far end, so as to balance the lifting moment and the weight of the lifting arm to ensure the anti-overturning stability of the whole machine. The balance arm is mostly composed of I-beam and channel steel plane frame, and its root is connected with the tower cap by a pin shaft, and the remote end of the middle part is connected with the top of the tower cap by a tie rod. Its bearing safety and firmness are also very important for the safety of the tower crane. The tower cap mostly adopts triangular or double space frame column structure, and the front and rear chord and belly rod are often composed of pipe or section steel. The top of the tower hat is equipped with a pull plate before and after, which is hinged with the front pull rod and the back pull rod with the pin shaft and the lifting arm and the balance arm respectively. The main body of the tower cap is a typical compression part, and its compressive stability is particularly critical to the upper load of the tower crane.
The standard section of the tower crane is the main body of the tower fuselage (tower body), which is generally a rectangular body truss structure with a square section. The standard section is mostly made of larger gauge steel or pipe as the main chord, and slightly smaller gauge Angle steel or pipe as the belly rod. The standard section bears the main load such as the upper weight, operation load and wind load of the tower crane, and is a typical compressive bending member. The safety of the standard section and its interconnection is very important to the safety of the whole tower crane. The foundation section of the tower crane is the base of the tower body, its structure is similar to the standard section, only the lower part is set up for connecting the anchor bolt structure, and even equipped with a transition connection seat and diagonal brace, but the specifications of the components are generally at least the same as the standard section, and some choose larger. Its safety is also critical to the safety of the entire tower crane. The attachment device of tower crane is composed of attachment frame, attachment rod, connection base and embedded parts, etc., which is suitable for tower crane configuration above independent tower height. The main purpose of installing the attachment device is to reduce the calculated slenderness ratio of the tower, and also to improve the anti-overturning stability of the tower crane. Therefore, it is included in the scope of safety consideration of tower crane.
